GIVE THE GIFT OF HEARING
Sounds of Hope
Untreated hearing loss affects millions - while perfectly good
hearing aids go unused. Let’s change that!
Sounds of Hope is a community-powered program that collects, refurbishes, and redistributes hearing aids to individuals who need them most. With your help, we give these devices a second life — and change someone’s future.
How the Program Works.
Donate Your Hearing Aids:
We accept any make, model, or condition — including devices from upgrades, demo units, or those no longer being used by a loved one.
We Prepare Devices for Use:
Through partnerships with leading manufacturers, donated devices are professionally refurbished or replaced with new inventory as available — ensuring every hearing aid we distribute meets high-quality standards. Unusable units are responsibly recycled.
We Match Devices with Qualified Recipients:
Hearing aids are paired with individuals based on their hearing needs and financial situation to ensure they receive the right technology.
We Provide Testing & Fitting:
Licensed hearing care providers (with the help of health students) conduct hearing tests, custom-fit devices, and show recipients how to use and care for them.
We Offer Follow-Up Support:
Recipients receive continued support for a set period — including adjustments, maintenance, and troubleshooting — to make sure their hearing aids are working well and they feel confident using them.
In partnership with local hearing care providers and Aiea High School’s Health Academy,
Sounds of Hope connects clinical expertise with student learning — creating a meaningful hands-on pipeline for future healthcare professionals while serving our community today.
How You Can Make a Difference.
We Accept Hearing Aids of Any Brand, Any Model, or Condition.
Upgrading Your Device?
Instead of storing your previous device, donate it during your next upgrade.
Honor a Loved One
Transform unused hearing aids into meaningful legacies by donating on behalf of someone special.
Clinics & Industry Partners
Unclaimed devices, demos, or returns can help restore access and dignity to underserved communities.
We also welcome volunteers — especially hearing care professionals — to assist with testing, fittings, and follow-up care. Beyond direct service, volunteers play a vital role in mentoring health academy students, ensuring the next generation of providers gains hands-on experience while recipients get the best possible care.
To receive am in-kind tax deduction receipt, please include your contact information when donating your device.
